The Puyallup Alumni Association was formed in 1992 from members of the Puyallup Centennial Committee. After 18-months of planning, the group hosted its first Alumni Fundraiser (dinner/dance), which witnessed 200 attendees and raised a little money to be put toward scholarships for PHS graduates. The event was well received and there was clear demand for an encore. The Dinner/Dance was repeated the following year and annually after that. In a single night, as many as 540 attendees have enjoyed this occasion and all proceeds go directly to scholarships
Over the years, the Alumni Association has:
Established and maintained the PHS Heritage Museum in the commons area at PHS
Assisted the Viking Booster Club and Celebration of Success
Relocated and refurbished the original gates from Viking field
Raised funds for the PHS Special Olympics Program and other groups
Funded pitching machine and Championship rings for the baseball team
Funded a new storage building for the tennis teams
Updated the PHS Alumni Directory
And issued nearly $75,000 in scholarships!
The Heritage Museum located in the high school’s commons area is a must see! We are always looking for items to add to our rich history. If you would like to donate any memorabilia to the museum contact Jerry Ledbetter (see below) or items may be dropped off at the main office.
