The Viking Vanguard and Viking Student Media were recently recognized from the 2017 Murrow High School Journalism Awards Competition through Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.
Each year, The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication recognizes the best high school journalism in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. The Murrow College is proud to support the work of high school journalist and their advisers.

In the sports writing category, Andrew Flury took third place. In the feature writing category, Haley Keizur took third place. In the best edition category, the Viking Vanguard took second place. In the Photography category, Megan Lynn took second place. In the multimedia category, Hannah Palmer took first place. In the news writing category, Haley Keizur took first place. And finally, for the best website category, the Viking Vanguard was awarded first place.
